Pet Cremation Method and Other Inquiries

Our company in Buda, TX uses the separation cremation method in handling your pet’s remains and places their ashes in a wooden urn. How do I know that the ashes returned to me are actually my pet?

While some pet cremation providers offer the option of privately viewed cremation, we believe that every pet and owner deserves this security without the added trauma of having to view the cremation proper. In order to ensure that your pet is treated with the utmost care, each pet is issued a unique metal identification disc at the time it is received. Your pet's identification disc remains with them throughout the cremation process and is packaged along with the ashes inside of the urn. This is the same process that is required by law in the cremation of humans.

Why does Rainbow Bridge of Texas cremate individual pets using the separation cremation method?

With the separation cremation method, overall greenhouse gas emissions are reduced, and environmental impacts are minimized due to the shorter use of the equipment. Because of the large surface area of the chamber, the cremation of one pet used to require almost an hour of fuel, which emits a lot of greenhouse gas. With the separation cremation method, as many as three pets are placed separately inside the chamber and are cremated at the same time, which greatly reduces the greenhouse gas emissions. This method is now widely practiced throughout the pet cremation industry. We will always strive to find the best ways to remain environmentally sensitive with the cremation methods we use.

How long is the cremation process and when will I receive my pet's ashes?

Our company makes every effort to pick up your cherished pet’s remains from your local veterinary hospital on the same day as requested (if requested before 2:00 PM). We also try our best to ensure that your pet is cremated within 24 hours of arrival at our facility. Rainbow Bridge of Texas will return your pet's ashes and closure package back to your local veterinarian's office in about seven days.

In what type of container will my pet's remains be returned?

Each pet is returned to the owner in an attractive wooden urn.

Will you pick up my pet at my residence?

For an additional fee, we will pickup your pet’s remains at your residence and deliver the ashes back to your preferred location. We do not allow pet owners to drop off their pets at our facility at this time. Another option is to contact your local emergency animal hospital for further assistance in preserving your pet until we can pick them up.

Can I pre-plan my pet’s cremation?

This is recommended as it is easier to deal with prior to your pet's passing. Arrangements can be made by contacting us or your local veterinary hospital.

What if my veterinarian does not offer the services of Rainbow Bridge of Texas?

We strictly do pickup services. Therefore, drop-offs are not allowed at our facility. We do, however, make regular pickups at veterinary hospitals in Austin and surrounding areas. Most veterinary hospitals will allow their clients to choose cremation services.

When will you pick up my beloved pet from the hospital?

We will pick up your pet within 24 hours of request.

Will my pet be delivered in a dignified wooden urn at no additional charge?

Rainbow Bridge of Texas will return your special friend’s ashes in an attractive wooden urn.

Will I receive a certificate of cremation

A certificate of cremation is issued with every individual cremated, including a reading material to assist you with the loss of your faithful friend.
